Arkansas junior forward Marshawn Powell announced today that he will be entering the NBA draft and leave the program with one year of eligibility remaining via Twitter.
Powell had a impressive career with the Hogs considering injuries. Powell finished 22nd on the all-time scoring list for the Razorbacks with 1,270 points. He also finished his career with 519 total rebounds.
Powell was named to the All-SEC Freshman team after having a remarkable freshman season with the Hogs. His sophomore year, Powell was slowed down after breaking his foot during the summer. Powell sat out all but two games of his junior year after tearing his ACL during practice.
After pulling a redshirt, Powell came back for his junior redshirt season and became the go-to guy for the Hogs. He scored 450 points and the led the team with 165 rebounds.
Along with Powell, it will be no surprise if BJ Young also enters the NBA Draft with one year of eligibility left with the Hogs. Young entered the draft after last season but pulled out at the last second and stayed for the 2012-13 season.
